5 November 2010

Some people run to clear their heads.  Some go to yoga.  Some drink.

I ride horses.

It's not quite the same, but in the end I think they have the same result.

Working with horses is hard, dirty, time consuming work that unlike running or yoga, doesn't allow you to clear your head, but rather requires you pay complete attention to the task at hand.

But after spending a few hours lunging, feeding, stretching, and riding; after every muscles aches and I am covered in dust in places I didn't even know dust could reach -  whatever I was worried about, whatever I was concerned about, doesn't seem as pressing any longer.

When I started working at a therapeutic riding center, I didn't realize it would be therapeutic for me.
